Cindy grew up in Ridgewood, New Jersey, graduated from Ridgewood High School and attended the University of Bridgeport in Ct, graduating with a BS in Fashion Merchandising. Cindy married Robert Myer in 1985, while he was working for Ridgewood Moving…in 1987 they bought the company. Rob ran the company for the next 18 years until 2005 when he suddenly passed away. Cindy took over the helm.
Within a few years, Cindy revitalized the company and set it on the course of sustained growth by formalizing company policies and procedures, enhanced technology, expanded the company’s service roster, investing in staff development and created a culture of caring. Under Cindy’s leadership, Ridgewood Moving became a certified woman owned business and an interstate agent for Bekins Van line and continues to raise the bar in a mostly male-dominated industry.
Widely respected for her business acumen, Ms. Myer was named among the 2014 NJ Biz Best Fifty Women in Business, CIANJ Woman of Influence, the Top 25 Leading Women Entrepreneurs and was honored as the 2014 & 2019 Mahwah Regional Chamber Citizen of the Year. She is a sought-after speaker and has been featured in numerous periodicals, including The Record and More magazine, 201 Magazine and on cable television programs. Ms. Myer’s was selected as one of the 2017 Women’s History Month Honorees by the County Executive and board of chosen Freeholders for Trailblazing Women in Labor and Industry.
