If you know the history of Ridgewood Moving Services, then you probably know about the back-story of how Cindy Myer took over the business. When the previous owner, Rob Myer, passed away, he left Ridgewood Moving to his wife. Even though Cindy knew nothing about managing a moving company, she refused to sell it and took matters into her own hands. Today, she helped bring the company to new heights and carries the Ridgewood Moving Services legacy.
I’m bringing this up because I found a really cool article published by The Record after going through our old archive. This article was written around the time Cindy took over company! It goes very in-depth about why she wanted to run the business and her future plans for it. In the picture shown below, you can see a young Cindy eager to learn about the moving business!
In the article, Cindy said, “Rob built this company to such a wonderful level and reputation. I’m going to take that reputation and build on it.” It’s easy to see that she kept her word after all of these years! Today, Ridgewood Moving is still the most reliable, high quality moving company in Bergen County and it’s all thanks to Cindy. When the company needed a leader, she stepped up and had a vision to restore it to its former glory. She promised to rebuild this company and she succeeded in doing so.
Cindy has also been recognized for her outstanding achievements in the moving industry. For instance, she has been named one of the best 50 women in business by NJBIZ. Next week, she will be a keynote speaker at an Inspirational Women in Business Luncheon hosted by the Bergen County Professional Women’s Network (BCPWN). There, she will talk about how she implemented philanthropy in her business by working closely with nonprofit organizations like Move For Hunger and Shelter Our Sisters. In fact, the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey (CIANJ) honored Cindy with an award for corporate generosity and good works of business!
This is only a small portion of the recognition Cindy has received, but it clearly shows how well she manages Ridgewood Moving Service.
