Cynthia (Cindy) Myer is the CEO of Ridgewood Moving Services, Mahwah, NJ. Under her leadership, Ridgewood Moving Services has grown from a boutique business founded in 1966 to an award-winning, full-service relocation, inventory management and custom storage firm serving residential, corporate and commercial clients. The firm was named “2013 Mover of the Year” by the New Jersey Warehousemen and Movers Association (NJWMA).

Ms. Myer transitioned from Ridgewood Moving Services “silent” partner to CEO in 2005 upon the sudden death of her husband, who had been running the boutique operation for 18 years. She revitalized the company and set it on a course of sustained growth and profitability by improving and formalizing company policies and procedures, expanding the firm’s service roster, investing in staff development, moving to substantially larger quarters, and launching a new marketing campaign. With Ms. Myer at the helm, Ridgewood Moving Services has become certified as a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE). Committed to continually finding new ways to add value for clients, Ms. Myer recently established a strategic alliance between Ridgewood Moving Services and Wheaton Worldwide/Bekins Van line, one of the country’s leading van lines.

An active participant in business and industry groups, Ms. Myer is on the boards of the New Jersey Warehousemen and Movers Association (NJWMA) and the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey (CIANJ), serves as the Senior Move Specialist for The Alliance for Senior Services (TASS), and participates in many area Chambers of Commerce and other organizations, including the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners (NJAWBO) and the Women Presidents’ Organization (WPO), among others.

Widely respected for her business acumen, Ms. Myer was named among the 2014 NJ Biz Best Fifty Women in Business and the Top 25 Leading Women Entrepreneurs and was honored as the 2014 Mahwah Regional Chamber Citizen of the Year. She is a sought-after speaker and has been featured in numerous periodicals, including The Record and More magazine, and on cable television programs.

A committed philanthropist dedicated to community service, Ms. Myer serves on the Board of the Center for Hope and Safety (formerly Shelter Our Sisters); sponsors the annual toy Drive at the Paterson Boys and Girls Club; actively participates in Move for Hunger, a nonprofit that works with the moving industry to pick up unwanted, unopened food from people who are moving and deliver it to local food banks; and donates the services of her firm’s trucks and materials to numerous shelters, hospitals, and charitable organizations throughout Bergen County.

Raised in Ridgewood, New Jersey, Ms. Myer graduated from the University of Bridgeport with a degree in Business. Cindy’s pride and joy are her two daughters, Melissa and Samantha.
