At Ridgewood Moving Services (Ridgewood Moving), we’re big supporters of the Center of Hope and Safety and Move For Hunger. The former helps victims of domestic violence and the latter collects food donations for starving families, which are two noble causes that we’re proud to help in any way. That’s why we call out events that they are involved in!

Events like the upcoming Outreach Auction help keep nonprofit organizations running because they need donations to carry out their objectives. Sponsored by the Central Unitarian Church, Unitarian Society of Ridgewood, and Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Palisades, the Outreach Auction has been supporting nonprofit organizations in Bergen County for about 15 years. Through activities like entertainment, food, prizes, raffles and both silent and live auctions, the event was able to raise roughly $47,000 dollars last year! This year’s auction is looking to replicate that success, but we need your help to make that happen!

Here’s a list of the nonprofit organizations being supported this year, along with a description of what they are, courtesy of the official Outreach Auction page on the Central Unitarian Church’s website:

Holley Childcare & Development Center, a 55-bed residential treatment facility, serving children 5 to 12 years old who are emotionally handicapped through abuse, neglect, poverty, abandonment or other circumstances.

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), supports and promotes court-appointed volunteer advocacy for abused and neglected children.

Center for Hope and Safety (a.k.a. Shelter Our Sisters), is dedicated to assisting victims, and their children, of domestic violence by turning fear into safety, helplessness into strength, and isolation into hope.

Have you noticed that the Center for Hope and Safety made the list? So, not only will you be able to support them, you’ll also be able to help every nonprofit organization listed by participating in the auction! $30 will give you access to the event along with food and desserts. The auction will be held at the Central Unitarian Church on 156 Forest Avenue in Paramus, NJ. If you are free on November 14th from 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM, then please attend this wonderful event! You can find out more information on the Center for Hope and Safety’s website and the Central Unitarian Church’s page about the event. We’d love to see you there!
